the re-enchantment
The Re-Enchantment is a three year project, produced by artevents, curated by Gareth Evans and Di Robson and core-funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation through its new and pioneering Breakthrough Fund, www.phf.org.uk.
The Re-Enchantment seeks to interrogate the various meanings of "place" in the 21st Century, at a time when globalisation, the implications of radical environmental change and the multiple alienations of modern society all threaten our sense of the importance of place to the enhancement of identity, belonging and creative possibility in life and art, both individually and collectively.
The Re-Enchantment will support a number of commissions in a variety of media, contexts and environments across the UK developing five new projects with artists, both emerging and known, who have demonstrated a significant, empathetic and enduring engagement with place as a primary element of their work.
